Audrey Rodriguez

About the Artist

Audrey Rodriguez is a fine artist based in Brooklyn, New York, and was born and raised in South Texas.  At the University of Texas at Brownsville, the thematic focus of her undergraduate art was the depiction of the drug cartel violence raging along the shared border of Brownsville, Texas and Matamoros, Mexico.

She later studied under Jacob Collins at the Grand Central Atelier, where she learned time-honored techniques in painting and drawing. She also studied under the tutelage of Max Ginsburg at the Art Students League and in his personal studio. She is currently in pursuit of her Masters degree from the New York Academy of Art.

Her Mexican and Honduran heritage are reflected in her work. Lately, her figurative work has focused on the immigrant vendors of New York City, scenes in Brownsville, TX and Matamoros, Mexico.
